Your Stay at Salt and Cedar: Our Policies and Guidelines
Ensuring a Smooth and Enjoyable Experience for All Guests
At Salt and Cedar Bed & Breakfast, we truly value every guest and aim to provide the best experience possible. If you find it necessary to modify or cancel your reservation, please keep the following policies in mind:
Arrival and Departure Times
Check-in is between 4–7 p.m. Please confirm a specific arrival time via email if possible, or respond to the reminder email 48 hours prior to arrival. If you plan on arriving after 7 p.m., please call 360-452-6021 in advance for special arrangements. All guests must check out by 11:00 a.m. on the day of departure. If you require an early or late check-in, please inquire with Guest Services.
SMS Messaging
By confirming your booking, you agree to receive SMS messages from us regarding your reservation prior to, during, and after your stay. You may opt out of these messages at any time by replying “Stop”.
Room Occupancy and Taxes
Our lodging rates are quoted for two guests. Rates vary depending on the day of the week and the month of the year and may change prior to booking. Washington State sales tax of 8.6% and lodging tax of 2.0% are added to all room rates.
Visitors
Sleeping accommodations are for registered guests only. If you wish to bring visitors during the day, please make the proprietors aware prior to the arrival of your guest. We allow one visitor per guest and no overnight unregistered guests.
Minimum Stay Requirements
We require a minimum two-night reservation for all weekends (Friday & Saturday nights) except for holidays and special event weekends where three nights may be required. Some single-night stays may be possible depending on availability between two stays.
Children
Salt and Cedar Bed & Breakfast is an exclusively adult-oriented property. However, we are open to considering exceptions for group bookings associated with celebratory events. Please feel free to inquire about such arrangements.
Pets
While we love pets, we cannot accommodate them. Please inquire with Guest Services for boarding assistance. Only service animals as defined under the ADA are permitted and must be under the owner's control at all times. Emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals are not considered service animals under the ADA, and we do not allow these on-premises.
No Open Flame – No Smoking
As a smoke-free property, we strictly prohibit smoking, including the use of cigarettes, cigars, and vaping, within the rooms, on room balconies or patios, or any part of the property. Any violation of this policy will result in a $500 cleaning fee, and no exceptions will be granted.
Noise Mitigation
We ask that all guests keep noise to a minimum in consideration of other guests. Please use headphones when using electronic devices in common areas. Music and electronic entertainment in guest rooms must be played at a volume that will not disturb other guests at any time.
Firearms
Firearms are not permitted on the grounds or in the home at any time.
Damage / Loss / Theft
You may be held responsible for any missing or damaged items, and be required to pay for their repairs or replacement. This is at the discretion of the inn manager and will be charged to your credit card with advance notice.
Parking
Onsite parking is complimentary, for one car per room. We do offer electric charging stations for overnight guests only. We are not responsible for your car and its contents.
Alcohol
Registered guests of legal age who choose to bring their own alcoholic beverages must consume those in their room. Alcohol is not allowed in public areas. Alcohol consumed during special events served by a licensed caterer with a permit is restricted to those 21 years or older (valid photo identification required) and may only be consumed at that event venue.
Olympic Bluffs Farm
All guests are encouraged to explore the entire property, including lavender fields, apple orchards, wheat fields, the apiary, and the beach. Please talk with the proprietors for more information.
Deposits and Balance Payments
To secure your reservation, we kindly ask for a one-night deposit, or a 50% deposit for stays spanning multiple nights. Deposits are processed on the day of your reservation. The remaining balance will be charged to your credit card on file 14 days prior to your scheduled arrival date.
Acceptable Forms of Payment
We gladly accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express, and it is essential to maintain an up-to-date credit card on file for all reservations. Gift certificates are recognized as a valid form of payment; if you possess one, please contact the inn at 360-452-6021 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. PST to make your reservation.
Cancellations
Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to arrival are subject to a $50 per room, per day fee deducted from the initial deposit. For reservations canceled 30–15 days prior, we will transfer your deposit, less a $50 per room/day fee, to a gift certificate valid for one year. For reservations canceled 14 days or less prior, you remain responsible for all charges unless we fully rebook your stay; if rebooked, we issue a gift certificate less the $50 per room/day cancellation fee.
Shortened Stays
If you decide to shorten your stay within 14 days of your planned arrival, you will still be responsible for all charges based on the originally reserved rate for all canceled nights.
Third-party Booking Websites
If you made your reservation through a third-party website, the reservation is nonrefundable / non-changeable.
Group Bookings
Any cancellations for buyouts of all 5 rooms (whether made in 1 transaction or 5 separate transactions) must be made 45 days prior to arrival and are subject to a cancellation fee of 20% of the total booking. Cancellation and modification policies may vary for group reservations; please reach out to us directly for more information.
Promotions & Gift Certificates
Cancellations on any promotions will transfer to a gift certificate valid for a year from issuance — no refunds on promotions. Promotions only apply to new bookings. Gift certificates may be applied to a new booking, though rates may change and a balance may be due. We will transfer bookings to a gift certificate a maximum of 2 times, after which it is subject to 100% penalty including tax.
Trip Insurance
We understand that unexpected emergencies can arise. For added peace of mind, we recommend considering the purchase of trip insurance, such as Allianz Travel Insurance or Travelinsurance.com, to help safeguard your plans.
